Our Story
Back in 1975, our parents Audrey & Bruce Brawn, purchased a little coffee shop in Cremorne, a Northern suburb of Sydney, and began what ultimately became the family business, the Brawn Trading Company, Ltd. Over time, as we learned more about the secrets of roasting and blending a great cup of coffee and expanded our product offering, our little operation grew into two stores.
We eventually gravitated to a wholesale operation based in Artarmon, another Sydney suburb. We sold our two coffee shops and began exclusively supplying business institutions, restaurants, coffee shops and other retailers with our gourmet coffees and premium teas.
Many of our wholesale customers have asked us to deliver our special blend coffees and teas to their homes – to enjoy the same great taste at home and at work – and we were happy to respond to their request.

My entry into the coffee business began when I was 18, back then it was only a part time affair while I pursued other interests. It wasn't until my early 20s that I took on a more dedicated and intense roll in the family business. Twenty years on and I can now truly say that my passion for the industry is firmly entrenched.

Unlike my brother who formally joined the family coffee & tea business in the mid eighties, I pursued other interests until the early nineties. In the back of my mind, my love of coffee would constantly draw me back home – and still I fought it. Finally I decided to rejoin Gourmet Gold and give it a go and have never looked back since. Coffee is in my blood! I’m grateful I finally came to that realization.
